Third man arrested in Violet Street inquiry

Friday, November 21, 2008, 12:30

Police have arrested a third man in connection with a disturbance in Normanton on Tuesday.

Officers arrested a 21-year-old man this morning.

The arrest followed an argument between a group of men in Violet Street at 10.30pm on Tuesday.

Two men, aged 24 and 20, arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon, have been released on bail.

A spokesman said there was no evidence to suggest that a gun had been discharged.

Police also said there was no link between this incident and the killing of teenager Kadeem Blackwood last week.

The arrested man will be questioned today.
