Friday, November 21, 2008, 14:25

A 60-YEAR-OLD man suffered a cut to his head after he was punched during the half-time interval of a football match.

The incident took place at the first round tie between Alfreton Town and Bury Town on Saturday, November 8, in the club bar.

Police are making an appeal to fans who may have attended the FA Cup clash at the ground in North Street, Alfreton.

Officers investigating the incident believe some people in the bar at the time may have recorded the disturbance on mobile phones and are appealing for anyone who did to get in touch.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at Alfreton on 0845 123 3333.
